Not only is this shrimp alfredo super creamy, it's VERY simple to make. Perfect for nights you don't wanna put in too much effort.
This Alfredo sauce gets its extra creamy consistency from using cream cheese. It sounds crazy but trust me, its a game-changer.
Creamy Alfredo Shrimp Pasta
Ingredients
14 oz of peeled and deveined and tail off shrimp
4 oz block of cream cheese
1 stick and 2tbsp of butter (i use unsalted)
2 cups of heavy cream
1 tablespoon of minced garlic
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of pepper
1 cup of freshly grated parmesan cheese
1lb of pasta (I used Penne)
Directions
Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook 1lb of penne pasta until al dente.
In a large pan over medium-high heat, add 2 tbsp of butter.
When butter is melted add all your shrimp and cook until pink
Take the shrimp out of your pan and add your stick of butter, heavy cream, and a 4 oz block of cream cheese.
Whisk together while it melts until lightly bubbling.
Add all of your seasonings and parmesan cheese, and continue to whisk until the sauce starts to thicken. (3-4 minutes)
Add your shrimp and Al dente pasta back to the sauce and cook for an additional 4 minutes.
Serve with some freshly chopped parsley and parmesan cheese.
Let me know what you think about putting cream cheese in alfredo sauce! I personally think it tastes great!
