The PERFECT Sugar Cookie

Not much in life compares to a warm fresh out of the oven sugar cookie. So let’s make some! This recipe is so easy, and you probably already have all the ingredients. It took me less than 25 minutes to make these, and that includes clean up!

Ingredients  

  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ¾ cup flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 cup of sugar - Plus more to roll your cookie dough balls in!

Instructions

  • Pre heat your oven to 350°F. In a large bowl whisk together your flour, baking soda, baking powder and pinch of salt. Set aside.
  • In a separate bowl cream together your butter and sugar for 2-3 minutes. Follow in with your egg and vanilla extract and mix until fully combined.
  • Combine your wet and dry ingredients and then roll your cookie dough into small balls (2tbsp each) and coat in a light coating of sugar.
  • bake your cookies for 8-12 minutes at 350°F. Let cool on the baking pan for 5-10 minutes before transferring to a wire wrack
